Just some random pictures I've taken (or have had taken of me!) at Renaissance Festivals...

CRF Opening Weekend: October 4, 2003

Minus a few minor snafus in actually GETTING there (I got my first speeding ticket since 1998... ugh!), our little group had a wonderful time at faire. Unfortunately, Himself was off to Los Angeles this weekend--so I hopped in the Wench Clown Car and carpooled with Justine, Ray, Kyra, and Alex. We met Nikki and Clint there--and later on hooked up with Beth and ???, whose name is currently slipping my little brain.

First order of business: getting photos of people in interesting costumes. I think I'll make this a goal of mine for the entire season. ;)

We met some NC wenches and Rogues, and I ran into a few people I've done garb for--which is always fun. Since Himself couldn't join us, I picked him up a few little gifts--a tail and a floppy jester's hat, which he had been eying at MDRF last weekend. :)

We caught a few shows, did a lot of shopping, and pretty much enjoyed the BEAUTIFUL fall day that was granted to us. Huzzah!

  • Laura, looking all Scottish and stuff. Well, pseudo-Scottish. OK, I couldn't Scottish my way out of a paper bag, but I'm wearing plaid. So there. ;)
  • Mis Red, all cheery and stuff!
  • OK, so Teddy gave me a sever case of camera envy this weekend. :P
  • Drawing a blank on the name--help me out, folks?
  • Clint, aka The Man In Black
  • I just LOVE Justine's chemise. :)
  • Ok, so it started with this guy. We spotted him pretty early on in the day, and I just HAD to have a photo of him. Thus, my goal: to find the most INTERESTING costumes at CRF today. :)
  • Interesting costumes, entry # 2...
  • Manly men, doing manly men things...
  • Ray actually got two axes into the wood--bravo! :)
  • Beth & Don
  • The third and final entry in the interesting costume contest. This guy said I could take his photo--only if I was in the picture with him. *shrug* Sure!
  • THIS was pretty cool--I spotted her on the way out. She's wearing the prototype of our Maid Marion dress, which I sold on Ebay about two years ago! She loves the dress--and it's great to see that it's held up to some pretty serious wear. Huzzah! :)
  • Ray, Justine, the Wenchlet and Beatriz
  • John Broadfoot and Don
  • Beth & Jayden. :) Beth picked up the cool headband today--and Jayden got her spiffy new leather bodice. Our group did our part in contributing to the economy. ;)
  • Mis Red, Beatriz, and the Wenchlet. Check out Beatriz's spiffy-cool chemise--she made it herself. :)
  • I call this the "What the *bleep* Photo.
  • Mis Red consoles the town... er... drunk. :)
  • All of the lovely ladies who were travelling with Ray were VERY affectionate. :)
  • This guy had hand puppets. He was talking to them. He scared me, just a little.
